Peru

Pray for Peru

The flood has subsided, and 100,000 homes are destroyed. Some adobe homes just “melted” as the water dissolved the mud they are made of. Thanks to Bavaria MB Conference and other individuals who raised funds. The Peru MB conference, led by Antonio Garcia, used the money for food kits for families. Now dengue fever has struck along with other illnesses. Workers are exhausted. Rudi Plett and I met with César García and other leaders of Mennonite World Conference and MCC by Skype to coordinate the various lines of interest and support. MWC regional representative Pablo Stucky of Colombia visited once, and is going again. We are so grateful for our larger MWC family standing with us in practical ways.

Heart of Christ MB Church, Berdyansk, Ukraine

Pastor Alexey Youditsenko posted pictures of their new storefront church on Facebook. Berdyansk is only a few kilometres from the area of conflict. The AMBCU (Association of Mennonite Brethren Churches of Ukraine) is also planting a church in Avdiivka, near Donetsk. It’s amazing to see their courage and faith, and the response of people seeking God.
