Pray for the sustainability of Mennonite Church Uganda. We need volunteers to join us in this important work and offer a helping hand. Pray also for the war refugees from DRC that are coming into Uganda. May God provide them with a supportive community, hope, and strength to carry on with their lives.

Pray for Mennonite churches in Japan as they seek ways to address leadership succession, with most pastors being past retirement age. Pray that God will raise up younger leaders for the churches, and for the churches to continue to see opportunities to grow as they adapt to new realities.

We ask everyone to pray for the new government of Bolivia to govern with foresight, wisdom and compassion. The petrol shortage has subsided since the new government removed the fuel subsidy, but many problems still exist, and the opposition continues to stage protests in the city of La Paz over fuel subsidy cut.

Heavy rains caused severe flooding in Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe in January 2026. Pray for MWC member churches as they respond to needs within their own families and in their regions: heavy rains and rushing floodwaters destroyed homes, crops and swept away livestock.
In Zimbabwe, some Brethren in Christ Church mission stations were cut off from towns and electrical outages affected schools and hospitals. Pray for the family of one schoolboy who was swept away in the floods.
In Mozambique, the most affected regions were Maputo, Gaza, Inhambane, Sofala and Tete provinces. The bishop of Igreja Irmãos em Cristo em Moçambique has not received completeupdates from remote regions but reports that 11 BIC churches were destroyed in Sofala Province.

We pray for Mennonite churches in North America to stay united. Amid the stress from a heated political situation as well as growing diversity among the church body, may churches draw closer to each other in solidarity, as Jesus prayed “that they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us.” (John 17:21)

Please pray for the Church of the Heart of Christ in Vinnytsia and Berdyansk, as well as other Mennonite churches currently under occupation. Pray for peace, freedom and the opportunity to address people’s needs. Our second prayer request is for a church building in Vinnytsia so we can better serve the people now and in the after-war rehabilitation. Our third need is for ministry on the front lines, where people have lost everything. We want to bless them with food, hygiene products and other basic needs.

Since 5 December 2025, violent attacks by an armed group have hit the town of Uvira in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. As a result, people from 10 CEFMC congregations (Mennonite Brethren Church of DR Congo) in the Ruzizi plain have been forcibly displaced, and others are still confined to their homes. Please pray for the affected population and members of our churches who already suffer from shortage of food and daily supplies because of the displacement. May God intervene to bring peace to this region and raise up people of goodwill to provide emergency humanitarian aid during this critical time.

Please pray for the stability of the currency of Malawi, which is decreasing in value on a daily basis. Economic hardship has also pushed some people to attempt house robberies. Pray for God’s protection in our areas and the safety of church members.

Creator God, Prince of Peace, Spirit of wisdom, thank you for this season to celebrate your incarnate presence, God with us. As the new year dawns, may your Spirit tune our hearts to the gift of living out unity. May we receive it gratefully as we follow Jesus amid the challenges of our diversity: cultural, geographical and theological.
