The International Community of Mennonite Brethren (ICOMB) is made up of 21 national churches in 19 countries with approximately 450,000 members. ICOMB exists to facilitate relationships and ministries to enhance the witness and discipleship of its member national churches – connecting, strengthening and expanding.
Trip report from Africa:
“The gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world...” (Colossians 1:6). As a missional people, Mennonite Brethren are co-workers with the Lord of the harvest.
At a mission leader summit sponsored by Multiply in Kenya, Rudi and I had the joy of sharing with emerging conference leaders from Malawi, Uganda and Burundi. A final interview was held with bishop Safari of the MB Church of Malawi (a candidate for full membership in ICOMB).
It was a time of personal refreshing, relationship building, and mutual encouragement for leaders giving oversight to gospel expansion in their nations.
We were also able to give instruction about the MB story and ICOMB to these brothers who have shown keen interest in becoming part of the family. The summit was ably led by Doug Hiebert, Multiply regional leader in Burundi.
