Renewing Spirit,
Help your church to be open, in fidelity to the gospel of Jesus,
to all possibilities in the coming of the new kinship – the kin-dom of God – on earth.
Help us to align our ways to sharing, social cohesion,
and symbiotic co-living between humans and the rest of creation;
to see creation as a cosmic web of living beings,
in which all creatures live in mutual interdependence.
Help your church to abide in a harmonious bond between the Source of being and all things.

Conflicts in some of our member churches continue to divide and discourage brothers and sisters in Christ. Please pray that the armour of God as in Ephesians 6:14 will be put on and the armour of actions given in Galatians 5:20-21 will be laid down for the church to be an effective witness to Christ in India.

We pray for God’s help to continue as a koinonia that transcends barriers of nationality, race, class, gender, language – and time and space. We pray for connection: that online participants in Assembly would not experience technical problems and that they would encounter the Anabaptist-Mennonite family at the event. We pray for the planting and cultivating of friendships that make space to learn, encourage each other and be mutually transformed. May we help each other in our task of witnessing to God’s grace by serving others, caring for creation, resisting conformation to the powers of evil, and inviting all people to know Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.

A message from a leader of an MWC member church in Myanmar:  

Our country is affected by the global catastrophe: we are suffering from extreme poverty and hunger due to international economic sanctions and internal unrest from war.  
We plead for special prayer for the 51 families of our missionaries and church planters and the 415 families of our congregation members. They have left their homes and stay in forest. They have been not able to support their livelihood for a long time. Food shortage is the great challenge.   
Please pray for us. We believe that prayer can make a difference.  
In this most difficult time of turmoil in Myanmar, God has opened a great door for evangelization. This is the most rewarding time of our mission fields. God is still on the throne.

Pray for peace and reconciliation among brothers [and sisters] in our church and for the development of our local congregations. Pray for our missionary trips and our households who will remain at home while we go on our mission.

Pray regarding the conflict in Ukraine and the impacts throughout Europe regarding refugees and economic impacts. Pray for a just peace in Ukraine. Pray for courage and perseverance for people in Russia who work for peace. Pray that refugees may find safety and welcome. And pray for the countries that are economically impacted by the war.

Pray for peace and stability of Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa. Pray for the healing of people affected by the recent conflicts in the country and full recovery of communities.
Pray for brothers and sisters persecuted because of their faith in some parts of the country,
Pray for MKC to contribute to the holistic transformation of communities affected by ethnic-based conflicts.
Pray for people affected by drought in southern, southeastern, and eastern parts of Ethiopia.

It has been more than a decade since the war in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo was to end. Each day there are more victims of kidnapping and the rape of women by foreign armed groups. A number of churches live in complete insecurity. 

In addition, there is the trauma experienced by several local churches of the Mennonite Church in Congo (CMCo) in the Kasai region where a number of young Mennonites died as a result of the sad Kamuena Nsapu war. Let us pray for stability and evangelization efforts among young Mennonites in the Kasai region. A number of young people gave their lives to Jesus Christ during Bible camps for young Mennonites in the Ilebo zone (district), abandoning fetishes they had used as protection against Kamuena Nsapu.

As Nepal goes into an election this year, pray that a good person may be elected. Pray for Nepali churches to have equal rights in the country and financial support for churches. Pray for opportunities to earn for those people who don’t have jobs. In the midst of challenges, pain, financial problems and temptation, pray for believers to hold up their faith in Jesus Christ.

Easter prayer/declaration 
(Inspired by Psalm 118, 1 Corinthians 15) 

The Lord’s steadfast love endures forever! 
The Creator is our strength and sustainer; Lord Jesus is our salvation. 
We are made alive in Christ who has destroyed every ruler and every authority and power. 
He has put every enemy under his feet and destroyed death. 
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

We mourn with our brothers and sisters in Myanmar who have been sheltering in forests or border regions for months after their towns and villages were destroyed by the military in the ongoing civil war. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights says Myanmar is “caught in a downward spiral of violence.” Lord, no one is forgotten in your sight. Hear our cries for mercy. Be our strength and shield. Deliver us from great trouble.
