Celebrating graduates in India

On 21 February 2020, Rudi Plett and Emerson Cardoso (ICOMB chair) along with other guests attended the Mennonite Brethren Centenary Bible College (MBCBC) graduation.

The college is celebrating 100 years of biblical education in India. The event had more than 100 graduates including masters and PhD level students. Students come from across India and from countries like Myanmar to study. The college also provides extension courses for pastors and lay leaders.

Rudi Plett and Emerson Cardoso brought greetings and a warm hug from the international community of Mennonite Brethren and words of encouragement to the assembly.

—ICOMB Update

“For a century, with a vision to train young people to serve in churches, MB Centenary Bible College (MBCBC) formed hundreds of leaders for India and abroad – and continues to do so. These are outstanding achievements in spite of challenges,” says MWC general secretary César García.

“Besides providing excellent academic support, MBCBC gives students the opportunity to share God’s love by taking part in community service with people who live with hardship. The vision with which this institution started continues to shine, bringing out the best in students who go out to teach, preach and live out Christ. Our prayer is for all to continue to serve with joy and be a beacon wherever we are called.”

“On behalf of our global church, I congratulate the principal, staff and all others serving MBCBC and wish you the very best as you labour for God’s glory.”

Congratulations to the graduates and to MBCBC for its dedication to training the family of God in India!
