Members make make annual Fair Share membership contributions, based on the MWC budget approved by the General Council, and as negotiated and agreed upon between MWC and the National Member Church.

Fair share is calculated on a triennial basis. (Because the actual contributions do not reach this unified goal, fundraising continues.)

Currently, Fair Share calculations are based on the relative wealth of the country (Purchasing Power Parity) and the relative membership size of the member church, recognizing that there are economic variations within a country that this is not able to acknowledge.
