In early September, Indonesia saw widespread protests over rising cost of living, government neglect of people’s hardship and police brutality. At time of writing least eight people have died; more than 1 000 protesters were arrested in the greater Jakarta area alone; and hundreds are injured. Cities across the country have seen clashes between protesters and security forces, destruction of public property, and deepening social tensions. Please pray for the Indonesian government to see this as a turning point for better governance. Pray for peace, protection for the vulnerable, wisdom for leaders, and healing for communities affected by the violence.
