Ministry partner update: ICOMB – August 2020

The International Community of Mennonite Brethren (ICOMB) is made up of 21 national churches in 19 countries with approximately 450,000 members. ICOMB exists to facilitate relationships and ministries to enhance the witness and discipleship of its member national churches – connecting, strengthening and expanding.

Mekong update

Praise God for the work in the Mekong region of South East Asia. Khmu Mission, the ICOMB member conference in the area, has been involved in outreach events.

Authorities in the area relax usual restrictions around Christmas, allowing for Christmas celebrations and outreach during that time. Last Christmas, they held outreach events and more than 1 900 people accepted Christ, and at least 8 new house churches were started. They have been building on this work all year.

The pandemic offered a unique opportunity for leader PK to travel to villages in the area and support the newer churches with preaching and teaching. They have had many baptisms and are very encouraged that the work of God continues even in a pandemic.
