Ministry partner update: ICOMB – January 2020

The International Community of Mennonite Brethren (ICOMB) is made up of 21 national churches in 19 countries with approximately 450,000 members. ICOMB exists to facilitate relationships and ministries to enhance the witness and discipleship of its member national churches – connecting, strengthening and expanding.

Missional Leadership Training

Missional Leadership Training (MLT), is a non-formal curriculum with an international team of trainers. There will be 18 modules total. Three modules have already been prepared and delivered, and have reached more than 150 leaders in three countries (Malawi, Philippines, Thailand). Requests for training are coming from additional emerging conferences, including immigrant groups in North America.

Philippines, an emerging ICOMB conference (not yet a full member), had Douglas Heidebrecht come teach the second module. 38 people participated and were issued a certificate of completion. Samuel Arcano, conference leader, reports, “We were challenged to know more about Jesus and to live like he did. We realize that knowing God’s Word is not just for information but for our transformation." Samuel Arcano has also used his Module 1 training to lead a teaching session in Palawan for bi-vocational pastors in the area.

Praise God for the reach and impact the curriculum has already had. Pray for more trainers!
