MWC issues urgent appeal for prayer for the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria

Bogota, Colombia – For the second time in four months Mennonite World Conference issued an urgent appeal for prayer, this time for the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria – EYN), who is experiencing horrendous violence and persecution of the Boko Haram organization.

Korean translation of What We Believe Together released

In early November, the Korea Anabaptist Press released a Korean translation of What We Believe Together by Alfred Neufeld, a 2007 publication in the Mennonite World Conference Global Anabaptist Mennonite Shelf of Literature. This was an initiative of the Korean Anabaptist Network.

Musoma, Tanzania – Joram Mbeba, a bishop in Kanisa la Mennonite Tanzania (Tanzania Mennonite Church), died on November 22, 2014 at the age of 84.

Taiwan Mennonite Church celebrates 60 years

Taipei, Taiwan – On 25-26 October 2014, more than 1,100 Taiwanese Mennonites attended a gala celebration to mark the 60th anniversary of the Fellowship of Mennonite Churches in Taiwan (FOMCIT). FOMCIT is a Mennonite World Conference member church.

Prayers of gratitude and intercession

December 2014: Pray for the leaders and members of an Indian congregation under attack for its ministry with Dalits (lower caste). Development Officer steps down

Chief Development Officer Arli Klassen will step down from her position at the end of January 2020. She came to this role in December 2012 after serving as binational Executive Director of Mennonite Central Committee. She supported MWC through fundraising and strategy casting.
