\nOur world is overtaken by our greed for more goods than we need.
\nWe confess our rapacious consumption, obsession with winning,
\nand our undercutting and isolating of the most vulnerable among us.<\/p>\n

\nOpen our eyes to the ministry of Jesus, a ministry of care and compassion:
\nTo grieve with the poor earth our greed has devoured,
\nTo be still, not distracted by a thousand useless things,
\nTo see that earth, sea, sky and every creature in it have a spiritual capacity to bring us back to you and the harmony of the cosmic dance.<\/p>\n
Living God,
\nHelp us to live in a dynamic becoming,
\nopening ourselves to this network of relationships and the future.
\nHelp us to see that we cannot live without receiving the gifts of others,
\nand also sharing our gifts with them.
\nAs the Thai Buddhist activist Sulak Sivaraksa taught:
\n\u201cI am, therefore you are; you are, therefore I am: we inter-are.\u201d
\nHelp us to say \u201cYes\u201d to your invitation,
\nto accept our \u201camong-ness\u201d with the uncoerced exuberance of overflowing friendship:
\nwith you, with our own spirit, with our neighbours, and with the rest of creation.
\nMay it be so.<\/p>\n
