Les arbres ont toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 des symboles importants dans l\u2019histoire anabaptiste. Elle s\u2019est perp\u00e9tu\u00e9e \u00e0 Strasbourg, lors de la r\u00e9union du Comit\u00e9 Ex\u00e9cutif<\/a> du 29 juillet au 4 ao\u00fbt 2004.<\/p>\n

A gauche: Lors d\u2019une excursion sur un site anabaptiste historique, le Comit\u00e9 Ex\u00e9cutif et le personnel de la CMM se sont arr\u00eat\u00e9s sous ce ch\u00eane au Salm. La tradition orale rapporte que cet arbre fut plant\u00e9 en 1793 pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer l\u2019exemption du service militaire pour les anabaptistes, obtenue par Jakob Kupferschmitt, pendant la R\u00e9volution fran\u00e7aise.<\/p>\n

Bas: Depuis 1998, lors de chaque r\u00e9union du Comit\u00e9 Ex\u00e9cutif, un arbre est plant\u00e9. En ao\u00fbt dernier, c\u2019est \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9glise de Bourg-Bruche qu\u2019il l\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9, par manque d\u2019espace ad\u00e9quat \u00e0 Strasbourg et parce que Bourg-Bruche est pr\u00e8s de l\u2019arbre du Salm.<\/p>\n

Sous chacun des arbres plant\u00e9s par la CMM est inscrit: \u201cEn hommage \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de Dieu et \u00e0 l\u2019Eglise mondiale.\u201dCette coutume s\u2019est instaur\u00e9e en 1998.<\/p>\n
