Bien que situ\u00e9e dans la francophonie au sens large, ses ressources proviennent essentiellement du monde anglophone.<\/p>\n<p>Pendant les rencontres de la Conf\u00e9rence Mennonite Mondiale (CMM) en 1990, il est apparu que le r\u00e9seautage entre francophones pourrait \u00eatre fructueux. Lors d\u2019un s\u00e9jour d\u2019enseignement au Congo en 1997, Claude Baecher a relev\u00e9 la pauvret\u00e9 des biblioth\u00e8ques universitaires en litt\u00e9rature francophone. En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, ce sont les missionnaires qui ont laiss\u00e9 leurs livres en anglais au moment du d\u00e9part. 80 % de la biblioth\u00e8que se composaient de livres anglais, alors que seuls 20 % des \u00e9tudiants \u00e9taient capables de les lire.<\/p>\n<p>Quelques francophones ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de se regrouper pour mettre \u00e0 disposition des Congolais des ressources en fran\u00e7ais. Le r\u00e9seau a commenc\u00e9 avec l\u2019envoi de livres pour les biblioth\u00e8ques d\u2019universit\u00e9s mennonites. En 2001, sous l\u2019impulsion de Neal Blough, les \u00e9changes se sont intensifi\u00e9s et ont d\u00e9bouch\u00e9 sur des r\u00e9unions en Europe et au Congo entre francophones du Congo, de Suisse, de France, de Belgique, du Qu\u00e9bec, et des organismes missionnaires nord-am\u00e9ricains travaillant dans la francophonie.
