{"id":133567,"date":"2026-10-19T16:31:44","date_gmt":"2026-10-19T16:31:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/?p=133567"},"modified":"2026-10-20T06:04:04","modified_gmt":"2026-10-20T06:04:04","slug":"forming-a-chain-of-prayer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/stories\/forming-a-chain-of-prayer\/","title":{"rendered":"Forming a chain of prayer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe have a prayer chain for grieving families.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLet us pray and show our solidarity with our brothers and sisters\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe do not stop praying for those prayer requests entrusted to us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are the kinds of messages you send in response to the urgent calls to prayer and the pastoral letters that Mennonite World Conference shares with the global family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIntercessory prayer is a real and active force that unites us as believers; it is a tool that knows no boundaries or distances. In the midst of our powerlessness, prayer shows us that God always listens, bringing us comfort, peace and hope,\u201d says Mary Cano, member of the Deacons Commission.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe importance of praying for one another appears in Philemon 1:22: \u2018for I am hoping through your prayers to be restored to you\u2019. It means that our individual burdens become the purview of the community. So, to pray for one another multiplies the voices that cry out during affliction and bring joy as soon as God shows mercy (paraphrase of 2\u202fCorinthians 1:11).\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-adc57f8e wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To bring us together to pray for each other, starting at Pentecost 2026, MWC is producing a monthly prayer card. These postcards feature a prayer point from our member churches in new country each month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can print out the cards from our website.
