With this truth in mind, MWC is inviting our members to take part in a new worship celebration this September,\u201d says Juliana Morillo, <a href=\"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/creation-care-working-group\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"11442\">Creation Care Working Group<\/a>, Latin America representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MWC members look forward to worship resource packages for <a href=\"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/anabaptist-world-fellowship-sunday\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"11439\">Anabaptist World Fellowship Sunday<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/yabs-committee\/yabs-fellowship-week\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"5625\">YABs Fellowship Week<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/commissions\/peace-commission\/peace-sunday\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/commissions\/peace-commission\/peace-sunday\/\">Peace Sunday<\/a>. In 2026, worship resources are available for Creation Sunday, a new celebration added to the calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCreation Sunday is an opportunity to proclaim an important part of our faith. This day is not only about what God has done in the past but also about what God is doing now,\u201d says C\u00e9sar Garc\u00eda, MWC general secretary. \u201cIn Christ, our creator God sustains the universe and us as part of it. Taking care of creation is a key point in our witness and mission.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Creation Care Working Group has curated resources to assist our churches in observing this date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/creation-sunday\/\">Click here for Creation Sunday resources<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMWC would love to hear how you observed this first-ever <strong>Creation Sunday<\/strong>. Please tell us how you used these prayers, activities, testimonies or teaching resources in your congregation. Let us know if there is anything you would like to see differently,\u201d says Doug Graber Neufeld, Creation Care Working Group chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs with all our worship events, although we designate a specific date, we invite our members to use our materials at any date that is convenient for them,\u201d says Janet Plenert, MWC director of communion building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both Peace Sunday and Creation Sunday stretch beyond the Anabaptist family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2006, MWC has declared <strong>Peace Sunday<\/strong> to fall on the date closest to 21 September, international day of peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLiving out peace \u2013 a key part of our identity as Anabaptists \u2013 requires resourcing, practice and celebration,\u201d says Andrew Suderman, Peace Commission secretary. \u201cWe pray that our materials for both Peace Sunday and Creation Sunday aid in that pursuit, whether congregations use them in September, November or at any other time of year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/resources\/peace-sunday-2026-worship-resource\/\">Click here for Peace Sunday resources<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Creation Sunday<\/strong> joins Anabaptists with Christians around the world in turning our attention on God as loving creator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For many years, Christians have observed a Season of Creation during September. Stemming from an Orthodox day of beginnings observed on 1 September, it also connects with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year that falls in September or early October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025, at an ecumenical conference in Assisi, Italy, church representatives agreed to begin to implement this feast day on the Christian calendar.
