{"id":123202,"date":"2026-01-28T16:00:56","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T16:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/?p=123202"},"modified":"2026-02-03T14:19:34","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T14:19:34","slug":"circle-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/stories\/circle-partnership\/","title":{"rendered":"A circle of partnership\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Over the course of its&nbsp;100-year&nbsp;history Mennonite World Conference has gone through many changes.&nbsp;As a living organization it continues to grow and change.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOrganizational structures need to be flexible and adapt to changes if they want to be effective in their mission,\u201d says C\u00e9sar Garc\u00eda, general secretary.&nbsp;\u201cIt has become clear that the staff structure we&nbsp;established&nbsp;in 2012 is no longer sufficient to ensure MWC fulfills its mission.&nbsp;As MWC grows, a new structure is necessary to ensure we&nbsp;remain&nbsp;healthy.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2026,&nbsp;the MWC team consists of&nbsp;19&nbsp;FTE staff positions,&nbsp;representing&nbsp;29&nbsp;people in&nbsp;13&nbsp;countries, and&nbsp;15&nbsp;staff-level volunteers in&nbsp;15&nbsp;countries.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These&nbsp;global servants&nbsp;are dedicated to supporting MWC in its calling to be a communion (<em>Koinonia<\/em>) of Anabaptist-related churches linked to one another in a worldwide community of faith for fellowship, worship,&nbsp;service&nbsp;and witness.&nbsp;MWC is&nbsp;facilitating&nbsp;relationships between Anabaptist churches in deeper ways,&nbsp;supporting church leaders through General Council meetings, the work of the Commissions and resources for all our churches.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"444\" height=\"446\" data-src=\"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/MWC-Organizational-Chart-EN-Jan-2026-REV4.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-123386 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 444px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 444\/446;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of 2025, MWC staff implemented\u00a0a new staff\u00a0organizational structure. The senior staff team\u00a0designed\u00a0it over the past 1.5 years with support from Credence &amp; Co., an organizational health and change management consulting company with Mennonite faith roots.\u00a0<br><br>The General Secretary continues to lead the entire MWC team, which is now structured into\u00a0four\u00a0departments:\u00a0<strong>Operations<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Communications\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Engagement<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Commissions<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Communion Building<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each department is led by a director, who&nbsp;joins&nbsp;the general secretary&nbsp;to&nbsp;form the staff leadership team.&nbsp;They are supported by&nbsp;managers and secretaries&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;departments, who form the senior team.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;different departments manage:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Operations<\/strong>&nbsp;department:&nbsp;finances,&nbsp;administration&nbsp;and&nbsp;employee services.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Communications&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Engagement<\/strong>&nbsp;department:&nbsp;MWC\u2019s public communications and fundraising efforts.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Commissions<\/strong>&nbsp;department:&nbsp;the work of the four&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/commissions\/\">Commissions<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/networks\/\">Global Anabaptist&nbsp;Networks<\/a>&nbsp;and the <a href=\"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/creation-care-task-force\/\">Creation Care Task Force<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Communion Building<\/strong>&nbsp;department:&nbsp;events, church relations&nbsp;(including <a href=\"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/contact-us\/regional-representatives\/\">regional representatives<\/a>)&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mwc-cmm.org\/en\/yabs-committee\/\">YABs<\/a>&nbsp;network.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Together, the four departments carry out all aspects of MWC&#8217;s&nbsp;vision&nbsp;and mission, from the&nbsp;logistics&nbsp;and programs to the ethos and relationships that are at the heart of the organization.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCollaboration among departments is essential for the body to function efficiently and faithfully.
