As Mennonite World Conference\u2019s Executive Committee and General Council delegates gather for worship, fellowship and discernment, there are farewells and hellos. Members of the Executive Committee and the Commission serve six-year terms.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The terms are staggered to ensure continuity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Executive Committee <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Executive Committee<\/strong><\/a> is elected from the General Council (GC)<\/a> and meets annually. Two members from each continental region are elected from the GC by their regional caucus. They represent not only their national church but the whole region.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Executive Committee members appointed in Germany will serve from 2025-2031. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asia<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sipra Biswas<\/strong>, Bharatiya Jukta Christa Prachar Mandali (India United Missionary Church), India.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Africa<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Samson Omondi Ongode<\/strong>, Kenya Mennonite Church. He has been re-appointed to another term, having served from 2018-2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Europe<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Wieteke van der Molen<\/strong>, Algemene Doopsgezind Soci\u00ebteit. She has been re-appointed to another term, having served from 2018-2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Latin America<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Omar P\u00e9rez Reyes<\/strong>, Asociaci\u00f3n Iglesias Cristianas Menonitas de Costa Rica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

North America<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Linda Dibble<\/strong>, Mennonite Church USA. She has been re-appointed to another term, having served from 2022-2025. She replaced a previous board member who was unable to finish their term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe reappointment of members who are available to continue serving is an affirmation of their wisdom and discernment,\u201d says C\u00e9sar Garc\u00eda, general secretary. \u201cWe are grateful for their leadership and we encourage our General Council delegates to continue to connect with their Executive Committee members between meetings.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commission specialists <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Executive Committee approved the appointment of new specialists, including the Faith and Life chair, to each of its Commissions to begin a term from 2025-2031. The new specialists were then received by consensus at the General Council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commission<\/a> specialist appointments considered the candidates\u2019 willingness to serve on each commission, issues of gender balance, cultural and ecclesial perspectives and the current GC members involved in Commissions.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
