Celebrating 500 years of Anabaptism, the new documentary, Where the Cottonwoods Grow<\/em>, is booking screenings in communities around the world. You are invited to be part of it by arranging your own local screening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where the Cottonwoods Grow<\/em> follows the 1874 migration of Mennonites from Imperial Russia (Ukraine) to the West \u2013 a journey of survival, resilience and hope. The film recounts how these Mennonites faced trials that tested the very fabric of their faith. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTelling even a small piece of Mennonite history through this film has truly been an honour,\u201d says filmmaker Dale Hildebrand.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These screenings have been moments of reconnection and reflection. For many, it\u2019s been a powerful way to engage younger generations with a living history. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Dale Hildebrand has found most moving at the screenings is that \u201cpeople are staying long after the credits have rolled – sharing stories, laughter, tears, and a renewed sense of community.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
